Most people don't have a true understandingof what electricity really is. Unless a person has been educated in some form of electrical studies,they may not be familiar with it.
Any person that is doing anything related to electrical should have the basic understanding of electrical theory. Electrical theory helps when it comes to troubleshooting circuits and components. A person should know the difference between AC and DC circuits. They should understand what makes these two systems different. Learn the basics first before getting involved with electricty.
